What is sustainable about not having a sustainable business model?

Interesting and pleasant gathering at Mindpark in Helsingborg arranged by Tillväxt Helsingborg.
The theme was ”Circular economy – from different aspects”

Karin Sandgren from Green Compliance gave us an umbrella approach to the subject based on the government office’s ”Circular economy – Action plan for the transformation of Sweden

Niklas Carlson, entrepreneur and Do gooder gave us a personal reflection and experiences on Circular economy linked to food.
Niklas is involved in various ways in several start ups, including https://noxcuses.se and https://www.nordicseafarm.com
The presentation and the conversation that followed led to many insights and an exchange of views about why more has not happened in Sweden that leads to a transition to a more sustainable production and consumption of food. I was personally pleased that Niklas pointed out that what many miss or are not initially interested in is – The business must be financially sustainable. Your idea must pay off in the market.
I ask myself otherwise – What is sustainable about not having a sustainable business model – Nothing, in the long run you will not be involved and contribute to a sustainable transition for Sweden.

Last but not least, Jonathan Lundstöm, Support for Ukraine, talked about extending the life cycles of products and giving them new meaningful use and at the same time helping fellow human beings exposed to a terrible war. Really, what’s more sustainable than that?
