Access to competent labor will determine if we succeeds

Many factors play a role in our successful transition to more sustainable production and community development. In order for companies to succeed in changing their production model and business model to be circular, sustainable and climate-smart, access to competent labor will determine who will succeed.
That companies and employers have access to motivated and skilled labor is a key to success. Vocational school education, which is planned and carried out together with industry representatives, is naturally very attractive for both employees and employers.
It is with pleasure that I have the privilege of being part of two training courses in the Food Sector and Green Industries.

Sustainable food intrapreneur, aims to train a workforce that can help food producers from within their own organization with their transition to a more sustainable and circular production.
Operations manager in Green industries, aims to train supervisors in agriculture, the forestry sector and the horticulture industry. Both programs have Folkuniversitet Syd as the principal.
The training has a national intake with a flexible study plan where distance learning is alternated with real-life impact in the form of industry days. During industry days, all participants meet somewhere in Sweden for two days to visit 5-6 different companies. This element is highly appreciated and of course a success factor for the students to receive a relevant education that is in phase with where the industry is. At the same time, employers get the opportunity to meet future employees.

The industry days in September were in Blekinge, where the students in the Sustainable food intrapreneur course visited and got to know;
